The choir was formed in September 1994 and we meet every Monday evening during term time at Our Lady of Annunciation, Upgate, Poringland, NR14 7SH from 7-9pm. Our Musical Director is Daniel Wright. We are happy to see new members and we do not audition. Please contact us at [email protected] for more information.
We perform a wide range of music from Brahms to The Beatles in a variety of venues. These include FEHS, The Castle Mall, numerous local churches – including weddings, village halls, private gardens and Norwich Cathedral. In recent years we have held our Christmas and Spring concerts at The Central Baptist Church in Duke Street, Norwich
Following our enforced break from concerts over the last two years we had a very successful Come and Sing Fauré concert at St John’s Catholic Cathedral in Norwich on March 26th 2022. Framingham Earl Singers performed four motets and then they were joined by enthusiastic singers from around Norfolk and beyond to perform Fauré Requiem and Cantique de Jean Racine. We were lead by our Musical Director Daniel Wright and accompanied by Juan Gabriel Rojas – leader, Daniel Justin – Organ, Christopher Lawrence – Cello and Cindy Pinnock – Harp. Our soloists were Sophie Bell – soprano and Edmund White – baritone.
Weddings
We have a prepared repertoire of music that we can sing at weddings. Our fee for singing varies depending on what you require. We can sing to support congregational hymns, perform 2 or 3 pieces during the signing of the register and also offer additional music for 15 mins before the service begins.
If you require an organist we can sometimes arrange this too but there would be an extra charge which would be negotiated at the present Church of England or other denominational rates.
Concerts
We are happy to sing at concerts and other events and prices will be negotiated on each individual request.
